Outlier Upland Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your phone

Outlier Upland has no account. Your hunts, trips, routes, map pins, dogs, photos and notes are saved only on your iPhone. We cannot see them. Backups are files you create and keep yourself.

Location

The app uses your location to record your trail during a hunt or trip, mark pins, point you back to your truck and show emergency coordinates. While a trip is running it keeps recording with the screen locked; it stops when you end the trip. Your locations are never sent to us and never appear on Trophy Cards or shares.

Weather and maps

To fill in conditions, the app sends a rounded location and time to Open Meteo, a free weather service, without any information about you. Map tiles come from Apple Maps, and public land and walk in hunting layers load from federal and state map services (BLM, U.S. Forest Service, USGS, Kansas and Wyoming). Those requests include the map area you are viewing, not who you are.

Voice notes

If you tap Speak, your voice is turned into text using Apple's speech recognition, on your phone where supported. We never receive the audio.

Bug reports

If you send a bug report, we get your note, the screen you picked, the app version and your iPhone model, plus your email only if you type it in. No hunts, spots or photos.

Purchases

Outlier Upland Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your card.

What we don't do

No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, no selling data.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
